I believe that my life with my boyfriend Aaron Patti resembles the story line of High School Musical (HSM). If you have never seen High School Musical, the two main characters are Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez. Troy is an athlete that is so completely into his sports and teammates. Gabriella is the new girl who is extremely intelligent. Eventually they meet and sing a song together at a karaoke party. They realize something they never knew; they can sing very well. Later on in the movie, they fall in love and sing in the school talent show together. They face a lot of ridicule from their friends for both being a couple and being singers, but they strive through it.
When Aaron first came to Smithtown Christian School, I heard he could sing from his brother, Sam Patti. So I asked him to sing something to me out on the recess field and he did, and I was absolutely blown away. This beginning of me and Aaron's story is similar to the karaoke party in HSM. A year later, Aaron and I began liking each other and he found out that I could sing too.
When Aaron and I first began to date, my older sister, Jess Mueller, and Sam Patti did not like our relationship and they would gossip with each other about us. This is the same as in HSM when the main characters face ridicule from their friends.
Not only does the beginning of me and Aaron's story resemble HSM, but also our personalities. Aaron is a cool, popular boy with a lot of friends. He plays on the school soccer team as well. I am a very smart student that really gets into my studies and I keep my grades up, just like Gabriella. Now, Aaron and I lead worship in our youth groups, our churches, and chapel together. This reminds me of the scene in HSM that Troy and Gabriella perform in the school talent show together. I guess you could say that we handled our situation the same as Troy and Gabriella did at the talent show; we went all out for the things we loved doing (using our gifts from God to honor and praise Him).
Another story in my life that really proved that HSM relates to me and Aaron was when we went to the city together. Aaron and I were stopped by this little girl's parents and they said to us "Can you pretend you guys are Troy and Gabriella from High School Musical because my daughter thinks you're them." So me and Aaron talked to her, pretending to be the characters, and signed autographs. That little girl was so happy.
I think it is so funny how this movie really relates to my life with Aaron. Our story line is the same, our personalities are the same, and we even look like the characters!

Very cool, Allie! The story and the writing! Excellent job! :)
